Courtney Reed (Charlotte)
is STOKED to be making her La Jolla Playhouse debut! She is best known for originating the role of “Princess Jasmine” in Disney’s Aladdin, (Grammy nomination). She was last seen on Broadway as Satine in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, for which she originated the role on the first national tour. Other Broadway credits include: In the Heights (Carla) and Mamma Mia!. Off-Broadway: Reunions (NY City Center), Cambodian Rock Band (Signature Theatre). West End: Aladdin. Sam Chanse (Book)
Plays include What you are now (Ensemble Studio Theatre and The Civilians, Sloan/EST Commission), Trigger (Lark Venturous Fellowship), Monument, or Four Sisters (A Sloth Play) (Magic Theatre), Disturbance Specialist/Out of Time (NAATCO & The Public Theater), Lydia’s Funeral Video (Kaya Press), Asian American Jesus, and The Family Album (La Jolla Playhouse, 2024 Vivace Award). A former New Dramatists Resident Playwright, two-time MacDowell Fellow, and Lark Venturous Fellow, her work has also been developed with Ars Nova, Ma-Yi Theater, Playwrights’ Realm, and the Ojai Playwrights’ Conference, among others. A native New Yorker, she was based in San Francisco for several years, when she served as artistic director of Kearny Street Workshop and co-director of Locus Arts, and developed work as a writer and performer at Bindlestiff, standup spots, and other artistic homes. TV: The Good Doctor (ABC) and Conviction (Hulu, forthcoming). She lives in Los Angeles with her daughter.

MILCK (aka Connie K. Lim) (Music and Lyrics)
is a singer/songwriter/recording artist and humanitarian who pens anthems for healing, bridge building, and freedom. Her breakout anthem “Quiet” was named a Billboard #1 protest song, NPR’s featured “American Anthems,” and a top feminist anthem of all time by Harper’s Bazaar. In 2025 Elle UK named MILCK as a top 40 Women of Hope. MILCK composes anthemic songs for film, television, and artists; from John Legend to Natasha Bedingfield. MILCK has since gone viral with another song titled “Sisters of Winter,” which is featured on the ACLU’s 2026 national campaign.  

AG (aka Adrianne Gonzalez) (Music and Lyrics, Orchestrator and Arranger)
LA-based producer/Grammy-nominated songwriter/mix engineer/Broadway orchestrator AG is a powerhouse. Over here 25 year career, she has become one of the most prolific producers in the world of film and TV. AG is also in a band called The Rescues, who just opened a musical adaptation of The Lost Boys, garnering her two Tony Award nominations for Best Score and Best Orchestrations.

Jess McLeod (Director)
is a proud second-generation Asian American, director and social justice advocate specializing in risky new plays and musicals about America. She has directed and developed work in New York and all over the country at theatres such as Second Stage (On the Evolutionary Function of Shame), Roundabout, MTC, BAM, Atlantic, P73, Little Island, Ma-Yi and regionally at Steppenwolf (The Thanksgiving Play), Goodman, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Alliance, La Jolla Playhouse, Williamstown, Berkeley Rep and Woolly Mammoth (There’s Always the Hudson), where she was also a BOLD Resident Director. 2025 Drama League TV/Film Fellow. McLeod served as Resident Director on Hamilton in Chicago for three years, Lead Curator for Roundabout’s 2023 Refocus Project, Co-Chair (with Michael Korie) of the Dramatist Guild Foundation’s Musical Theatre Fellows Program, Artist-In-Residence at the NYCLU (Creatives Rebuild NY Grantee), and a Tony Nominator from 2022-25. She grew up in San Francisco, spent a decade in Chicago after earning her M.F.A. in Directing from Northwestern, and currently resides in New York. Next up: John Proctor Is the Villain at ACT, Seattle Rep and Center Theatre Group.

Bryan Perri (Music Supervisor)
La Jolla Playhouse: Limelight. Broadway: Jagged Little Pill, Wicked, Almost Famous, Chaplin. National Tour: Next to Normal, Altar Boyz. Off-Broadway: The Lonely Few, Dogfight, Superhero, Vanities. Select Regional: Freaky Friday (Signature), Empire Records (McCarter), Starstruck (BCP), I and You (Olney). Music director for Aaron Tveit performing nationally and internationally for the last 13 years. Co-founder and resident music supervisor of A.C.T. of Connecticut and Grammy nominated for Stephen Schwartz’s Snapshots. His album Few Words - featuring all original work - is currently available on all streaming platforms, and was recently performed live in a solo concert at Carnegie Hall with Perri conducting. 

Michael Sobie (Music Director/Conductor)
La Jolla Playhouse: Debut. Orchestral: Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience, Surreal (Dubai World Expo), Michael Sobie’s Rocket Man Experience. National Tours: Wicked, Les Miserables, Aida, Xanadu, Altar Boyz. Film/TV: Grace and Frankie, Rooster, Locke and Key, Christmas Story Live, Mountain Between Us, Marriage Story, Reminiscence, Wrinkle in Time, Too Funny to Fail, PBS’s Great Performances. Other credits: Gods and Monsters (new stage adaptation, composer), Hell on Earth: A New Musical (composer), and Fusion for NCL (arranger, co-creator). In his spare time you can find him painting (current exhibit: Blue Line Gallery’s Art at Work in Roseville, CA) or assembling his latest Lego build. Love to my favorite husband, Gino.

Hahnji Jang (장한지) they/them/형 (Costume Designer)

Off-Broadway: My Joy Is Heavy (New York Theatre Workshop); The Keep Going Songs (Lincoln Center); On the Evolutionary Function of Shame (Second Stage); GALAS (Little Island); Islander (Playhouse 46 and Tour). Hahnji uses their passion for the fiber arts to upcycle garments and offer affordable affirming styling and costume design outside the limiting binaries of capitalism. Their current focus is @TransPunkCloset, a sustainability experiment started at Soho Rep reallocating theatre costumes to the queer BIPOC community. Hahnji.com 

Amanda Zieve (Lighting Designer)
