CONTENT GUIDANCE
The Heart follows the story of a young man’s heart on its way to a new recipient through organ donation. Much of the story is set in hospital spaces. It is a fast-paced, thoughtful and sensitive exploration of life and death, sorrow and hope, and while delving into emotional themes, it’s ultimately uplifting.
Stage effects include water-based fog and haze, bright lights that strobe/flash, the use of fake cigarettes and loud music. Patrons sensitive to loud music are welcome to pick up complimentary ear plugs from the Access table in the lobby.
This show is recommended for ages 12 and up. Read about our age recommendations here.
We understand sensitivities vary from person to person. If you have any questions about content or stage effects, please get in touch with our Patron Services team at boxoffice@ljp.org or (858) 550-1010 and we’ll be happy to give you more info.
