This production, SUMO, is a good example of how new works are developed at the Playhouse. SUMO was presented as part of the DNA New Work Series in July 2021 with two performances. The second performance was significantly different from the first due to audience feedback. Playwrights love developing new plays at the Playhouse because the artists and staff are able to quickly adapt and are very innovative in realizing the playwright's vision. Unlike many theatres, plays developed at the Playhouse often change dramatically during development and previews and we bring world class skills to support the playwright. 

My wife Stephanie and I are always impressed by the range and sophistication of theatre at the Playhouse. Everyone responds differently to each of the productions, but that is part of the experience of new and exciting theatre. I have enjoyed being a Trustee on the board of the Playhouse and chair of the Philanthropy Committee.
